Simba 6yr old 12hh-12.1hh unofficial Palomino Part welsh x APSB Registered Part welsh, eligible for APSB and palomino registration Gelding (currently still registered as a colt just hasn’t been changed yet) Simba is a quirky little guy with loads of potential, currently unbroken due to lack of time, he is a quick learner however can be spooky on the ground and nervous on occasions, when he is in work he is great to work with, really switch’s on and is quiet cruisey, other days he likes to play his games and put on a show, in particular with Catching and touching his ears, I have spent hours desensitising him with ropes, bags, tarps, and machinery. If he’s in consistent work he is great and picks up each sessions quickly, if he has time off he can take sometime to ease back into things Once he’s comfortable with someone he is fine but it did take quiet some time for him to settle in with us, I haven’t had any issues for awhile in catching him but I feel with a new owner he may try his games again. he is not for someone who doesn’t have experience in handling quirky horses but for someone who can see the potential in him, has patients and is willing to take there time in getting the absolute best out of him. He has been to a couple of shows in hand with his previous owner but due to Covid he hasn’t been out for a couple of years, he has come a long way but he is quirky and will spook at random sounds and objects that he has seen a million times, he does recover well if he gets spooked or is unsure of the task, he’s very responsive to voice commands and comes back down to earth pretty quickly. he has had the roller and bridle on, he can be a bit girthy when he hasn’t been in work for awhile but seems to adjust fine once he settles, There is still a lot more ground work to go before having his first sit anytime soon as his quirkiness seems to get the better of him some days Easy to wash, worm and rug, he has square looking hooves but iv never had any issues with soundness.
