Manolo Mendez Demonstrates At Bendigo Expo
Manolo Mendez is an accomplished trainer and instructor who has been involved in the training of dressage horses to Haute Ecole level since his early teens. He will be demonstrating his art at the National Equine Expo later this month.
He was one of six founding members and second in charge at the famous Royal School of Equestrian Art (known as the Spanish Riding School) in Jerez, Spain. Here he trained horses and riders in the classical principles of equestrian art. He, along with his riders, has given many exhibitions and displays throughout Europe.
Originally coming from Spain to be the first Director of ‘El Caballo Blanco’, Manolo has now lived in Australia for many years and is committed to encouraging excellence in all whom he teaches the art of Classical Dressage. Dressage, jumping or any other equine sport – there are enormous benefits for the horse started or retrained in the Classical way. He is truly an experienced horseman with a vast knowledge of skills in training; his quiet emphasis is always on tact, lightness and softness. He imparts much knowledge in training of horses for correct paces and movement at every level from basic foundations to the higher levels. He listens to the horse and teaches us to become aware of their “expression” and how they use their body. He is well known and sought after here and overseas for his groundwork techniques and creaing a much sought after softness and balance in the higher level movements of piaffe and passage. Manolo’s experience in educating horses through all different levels and stages of training has taught him the importance of building strength through correct muscle development to create agility and suppleness. He is always looking for balance and regular rhythm in training. This is crucial he says if we are to keep the horse sound in body and mind in order to rise to the great demands that are placed on them for the art of dressage. He is considered to be one of the foremost exponents of this Equestrian Art. Manolo Mendez can be seen at the National Equine Expo in Bendigo. He will demonstrate his Classical Training techniques in the Indoor Demo Arena at 11am on both Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November. {sidebar id=3}
