Due to buyer default, Bernie is back up for sale. Bernie (Inshadow) is no stranger to the Standardbred show world and has been coming home with broad sashes for the last three years. She is comfortably handled and competed in hand by teens, however is more suited for experienced riders as her movement is very expressive and forward. She has excellent confirmation and a lovely head. I don't have a confident teen in my mix who is able to fulfill her potential and I am far too big for her. Has done the HERO program, officially measured at 14.3hh. Has done Barastoc and many big Ag Shows for many wins. Can canter, however rider will need to be intermediate in order to keep her balanced during downward transitions. Doesn't get phased by show atmosphere and is easy to show prepare, will even snooze when getting plaited. Extremely good doer, needing very little feed to stay in good shape. Unfortunately we have to let Rose our beautiful Girl go, as unforeseen circumstances have arisen which means I dont have the time she deserves to be spent with her.She is delightful mare, although Im biased. Always happy to see you, very eager to work and is quite responsive to what you're asking. She is also happy just to walk nicely if you prefer a quieter ride. She wasnt worked much or very often before I brought her and I wish I was able to put a lot more time into her beyond an immediate sort of level, and although she has had novice riders when I've been there to assist, it has been limited to roundyard and the arena when riding without huge amount of distractions. During the time I've spent trying to see what bits have been left from her ex trotter background I've noticed on occasion she can slip into a trotter pace rather instead of a canter when I'm asking her to go up a notch, but easily moves out with either another urging onwards or slowing her back down. This has been the only real point of note that I've come across in my time with her, and I try to cover as much about both good and not so good aspects I've seen, found or noticed during my experience with her to help in finding the right person.She wasnt fast enough for the trots which is why her previous owner had her but she wasnt being ridden much and sat in a small mud soaked paddock before I had her. She leads well, tacks up without issue and comes with her halter, lead rope, newly brought mesh blanket. Ive only had to float her the once, and I haven't managed to do any additional float work as it took a little bit of patience, and some hard feed to get onboard. After this, he was purchased in 2021 as a beginner horse for a 10-year-old child; however, he was subsequently ridden by inexperienced adults, which resulted in him losing some confidenceparticularly around men. His previous home was not horse-experienced and was unable to provide the level of care and handling he required, so I took him on in 2023 to improve his health and wellbeing.My intention was to further educate Patrick and have him as a pleasure riding horse; however, due to my own health issues, Ive been unable to ride and give him the consistency he deserves.Patrick is a very gentle, kind-natured horse with no buck, rear, bolt, or bite. He has no health issues, has great feet, and is: Easy to wash Easy to lead Easy to rug Easy to tack up Easy to float Easy to walk, trot and canter. Once caught, Patrick will do anything you ask of him and is very willing to please.He does not have stable vices.He can be hard to catch, with some days better than others, so he does require a calm, patient handler.With the right person, Patrick has the potential to be a lovely pleasure or companion horse.
