“Polly” in your pocket, QH x Tobiano Paint

ID: 3415

$12,500.00Negotiable

  • Discipline:Cutting
  • Breed:Paint
  • Gender:Horse
  • Height:14h 3"
  • Age:7

Miles mustering outside and in the arena on cattle. All dry work established. Genuine sensitive mare, will catch you, easy to do everything with. Shoe, float, rug, pamper, bareback you name it. Very good doer / easy keeper. Not forward or matey, happy to follow along. Follows me around, even after a ride, looking to hang out or for the next lesson. Has been out of work for 1yr as I was having a baby. Now just don’t have the time for her. Before I stopped riding she was ready for a rookie cowhorse event. Has also had a campdraft run. Would suit Snafflebit/Cowhorse or someone wanting to step into the world of cows. Would suit rider without cattle experience who wants a horse to kindly show them how it’s done. Possibly too many ‘buttons’ for all round beginner rider. Was started by cutting trainer and used as turn back horse. Has had many individual lessons and clinics from well-known trainers with me over last 3 years, cattle disciplines (cutting, cowhorse, campdrafting) & horsemanship. Sad sale, not enjoying writing this up. Polly needs a home with someone who wants to love her, ride her and have a bit of fun. With 4 under 5 I just don’t have the time.

FROZEN SEMEN AVAILABLE Arcadian Cahirmee (Alfie) is a highly regarded Gypsy Vanner/Cob stallion who passed in late February 2024 and his last remaining frozen semen straws are available. Cahirmee known to many as “Alfie” was an incredibly versatile stallion with a steady strength of presence and proven kind and even temperament, the same distinctive traits are carried through to his progeny. It is these traits that make his frozen semen highly desirable and worthy not only for consideration to your Gypsy Horse mare but to a number of other breeds and progeny will always be coloured. In the past Alfie has produced foals out of Gypsy Horses, Registered Shires and Clydesdale mares, Welsh, Connemara, paint horses and warmblood mares - some of his progeny can be viewed on the FB page of Arcadian Stables. From a young age Alfie travelled Ireland from north to south, either alongside or pulling vardos. He then went on to England where he was trained and excelled in dressage prior to his being Imported to Australia over 20 yrs ago. Alfie stood at just over 14.2hh, he was a true black and pearlescent white and carries the homozygous gene for colour, hence all his foals both here and in Ireland have been coloured. The last remaining doses of this stallion’s frozen semen are being offered for sale, his straws have been proven and prepared by a leading equine vet at Hawkesbury Equine Veterinary Clinic NSW and a motility report can be made available. Arcadian Cahirmee tested Negative to FIS (Foal immunodeficiency Syndrome) and PSSM (Poly saccharide Storage Myopathy Type1) Negative Arcadian Cahirmee was registered as a founding stallion with the Australasian Gypsy Horse Society Inc. and his DNA is held at Practical Horse Genetics and with Equine Genetics Research Centre, Racing Australia with authority given from the GVCS to Racing Australia for all future Paternal Verification of his progeny.
