212 6 Year Old Horses for Sale

“Lusanda Park Papillon” APSL approved mare with a score of 73.25. Poppy is 6 years old, chestnut (no grey) and is approx 16.3 hands tall. She is a more “modern” type and we have attached a photo of her pedigree and revision score. Poppy was lightly green broken to saddle in 2024 and then had two successful embryo transfers (both worked first try) and carried her own foal born in November 2025. Poppy is currently empty and will be available late March/early April when her foal is weaned. She will be ready to either continue her training under saddle or can be a broodmare for either ET’s or carry her own foal. We used Orfeo HH for her two ET’s and put her in foal with frozen semen to Ice Cream RS. Due to us retaining two of her 3 foals, we have decided to offer her to a breeding or dressage home. She is a very intelligent mare and is strong minded, and we feel she needs a more experienced home than us. Manolo Mendez did some work with her at our property which we can provide some footage of. We can also give references from the repro vet who did her ET’s, and from the trainer who very lightly started her under saddle before the ET’s. Transport can also be included if the home is on the East Coast of Australia. We are only asking her purchase price, which is extremely reasonable for an APSL mare who is green broken and also a proven broodmare for embryo transfers.

Twyford aka Derick 16.2hh| 6yr 2019| bay| Thoroughbred gelding| Derick is a stunning, well built OTT. He is a flashy bay with white socks a blaze and a grey flecked tail. He has developed 3 lovely well balanced paces. I rode Derick when he was in his racing career and he was definitely a favourite! I feel derick would thrive with someone looking for a competitive mount in any discipline. I have taken him over a couple of jumps clearing 90cm with ease, he is very bold. Catherine ‘Call Me Catherine’ 6yo Thoroughbred Mare | 16h Purchased as a yearling for $280,000, Catherine is a real standout with plenty of bling and presence to match her personality. She finished racing in 2024 and has since enjoyed a well-earned spell, transitioning beautifully into life after racing. Catherine is exceptionally well handled and easy to do anything with — drenching, dentist, farrier, floating (both straight and angle load). She’s often described as a “big puppy” who simply loves being involved in whatever her people are doing. Under saddle, she is uncomplicated and genuine. Despite limited post-racing mileage, you can pull her out of the paddock and hop straight on — she’s the same each time and does not require lunging. She moves beautifully in the arena, carries herself in a soft natural frame, and has a lovely rhythmic canter. She shows real enthusiasm for pole work and is proving to be a point-and-shoot type over small fences and grids. She is still green and would benefit from regular, confident riding to continue her education. At this stage she is not a beginner mount, but in capable hands she is shaping up as a very exciting prospect for eventing, showjumping or dressage. Perfect at home and has just started work off property still new to outings but is coming alone very quickly. Catherine is willing, trainable, and genuinely wants to please. In the paddock she is full of character — known to hollow out the middle of a round bale and curl up inside it (sometimes alongside the cat!) She does carry a scar on her near foreleg. Ollie Would excel in any discipline a super fun horse! Good to catch, float, farrier. Will tie up all day absolute no nasties! Ollie is the sweetest man with so much love to give the first to catch you in the paddock. Has been on a feedlot with me for the last 6months (rotated between three horses) he is very cowy (knows how to work a cow) and loves his job! Can open and close any gate off him. I have taken ollie to pony club grounds where he took everthing in his stride water jumps, jumps, arena work. He has been to a barrel racing day with no clue what he was doing but that didnt stop him from giving his all, his been to ranch sorting and new his job stood patiently for his turn all day. Has all basics leg aids, walk to canter good voice controls etc. Can be a bit rushed/nervous in an unfamiliar environment but with work and encouragement calms down and works beautifully. With the right rider Ollie would excel in any discipline he trys his little heart out. Would suit a firm but kind rider no beginners. Has big powerful movement ridden in a snaffle very responsive.
