Coloured Mare or Gelding for Trail Riding

ID: 3920

$10,000.00

  • Discipline:Adult Riding Club
  • Gender:Horse
  • Height:15h "
  • Age:10

Wanted To Buy Coloured mare or gelding for trail riding and liberty/trick training. Sorry in advance for the longish ad Im looking for a calm, sweet-natured, easygoing horse to share adventures with on the trails (bush, beach, even through town), for liberty training, and maybe even trying working equitation and ARC. I devastatingly lost my heart horse unexpectedly a few months ago . She was my dream horse, and while I wasnt planning to look again so soon, I miss riding so much. My criteria might seem picky, but I had my perfect girl, and filling her shoes will be really hard. Musts: Palominos, buckskins, pintos, silvers etc Sweet natured mare preferred, but open to geldings Under 14 years old Over 15hh Trail experience, must be happy ridden alone and in groups Easy to float Calm nature (not hot or spooky), good after a spell as my health sometimes affects how consistently I can ride Happy in a herd, kind to paddock mates (theyll live with my two friendly aged TB geldings who wont cope with a bully) No TBs/STBs (dont get me wrong, I love them both my boys are TBs! but Id like something different this time) Preference for QH, SH, heavy crosses etc Sound, healthy, and open to vet checks Does not need to be a ribbon winner or be super educated, just needs to be easygoing and safe. What I can offer: A lifelong, 5-star loving home my horses are family Excellent care with experienced farriers, vets, bodyworkers, and nutritionists (all of whom can vouch for me) Fun adventures! This year alone Ive ridden at the national arboretum, the beach, rivers, and around town, plus I join ATHRA club rides whenever I can Training based on positive reinforcement and liberty, giving my horses autonomy and a voice Open invitation for past owners to visit, and regular updates if theyd like Ive had my 25-year-old TB for 12 years and still send photos to his old owners, who visit him too Budget: preferably under $10k, but with some flexibility above that for the right horse....

Talented sweet natured mare

ID: 3928

$7,000.00

  • Discipline:Adult Riding Club
  • Gender:Horse
  • Height:13h "

A beautifully presented 13hh mare, 12 years old, offering an excellent opportunity for a confident young rider or small adult. Currently ridden by an 8-year-old but ideally suited to a confident 10/11-year-old or older as she is a bit too strong for my daughter. Ridden in snaffle, has an amazing scopey jump, both over XC and show jumps and never refuses! She has serious potential to be a brilliant PC games pony.Performance:Consistently jumping C-grade at 75cm with potential for B-grade cross-country and show jumping. She is clearing the C Grade jumps with ease. She is a brave jumper and does not refuse.Shows excellent trainability and willingness with dressage, and pretty enough to show. She softens into the bridle within minutes and is very comfortable (I've been training her bareback and sitting trot is awesome when on the bit)Lots of ground work done and a very fast learner.Has done games at pony club and naturally changes her canter lead around poles. Can be competitive once she gets moving, she is loads of fun.Temperament:- Sweet, affectionate and eager to please- No rear, buck, bolt, pigroot, biting or kicking. She is not a marey mare!- Easy to catch, loves carrots. Self loads onto the float and loves a rug as she feels the cold like I do! Easy to worm and great for the vet. She has tough little feet and doesnt require shoes.- Used to children, dogs, farm machinery and unusual paddock activities (like soccer balls, tree climbers, bicycles while she's eating).- Has been hacked out a lot, can be strong on the trails, but ridden by a 13 yr old, often bareback on the roads. No issues with cars etc. Has double dinked 2 kids and been ridden in halter with rugs on to anf from the paddock.- Has been led with younger riders but can be looky at times so not suitable for a nervous beginner. If she does shy, its more like a little jump than anything dramatic. My 8 year old has ridden her through these and not been concerned.- She gets separation anxiety from her HUMAN! Sh...

Chad or Chaddy (raced unsuccessfully as Galatians) is a sweet boy I've had the pleasure of owning since April 2024.Chad is very special to me so I want to find him the perfect home, I would have liked to have him longer however due to University and two other young horses I just don't have the time to put into him that he deserves.I rode Chad at the track and immediately fell in love with the cutie! He wasnt spooky, never bolted or bucked and was used for a couple of less experienced track riders. After a couple of preparations we discovered the racing life just wasnt for Chaddy, he was not a happy camper living that lifestyle. After a horrendous run April 2024 we decided to retire him (sound) and I took him home where he spelled for 8 months.I brought Chad back in to work In January 2025 where I worked on establishing the basics (bend, flexion, contact and leg). I begun exposing him to jumps (50-60cm) and also took him around my cross country (45/60cm) course twice and was blown away with his confidence.I took him to his first outing in early February where he scored 60% in a prep test, he's also successfully completed two 50cm ODE's and a Showjumping training day this year. He still shows some initial stress when ridden at outings which I believe will reduce with time and experience. I have done lots of trail riding and riding along roads with Chad and have been absolutely blown away with his quietness, he's has motorbikes, trucks and the like zoom past him with no reactions!I believe he shows promise as a show jumper or trail riding mount and potentially a competitive eventer with experience. As he is young, it would be great if he went to someone experienced who wants to take their time and not rush up the grades ect.Chad is Equimillion eligible. He has been on a break since Wagga Horse Trials whilst I focussed on my other horses so I will need at least a weeks notice in advance if viewings are wanted! He's such an affectionate, sweet boy and I just want the best fo...
